Remembering 9/11...A People United

On this day in 2001...Our country was never more united. We were united in our shock and horror...we were united in our anguish and pain...we were united in our fear and uncertainty...

September 11, 2001...our country discovered how horrific hate can become...yet, on that day...we also discovered how great love really is. We experienced how love will always conquer over the evils of hate.

We quickly became united that day in our   outreach and sacrificing for others...we were united in our compassion and love which made us united in our resolve to be our brother's keeper and to protect all life.

On this day in 2001...our country discovered our greatest need was God...and our country was united in prayer...not only churches were filled...but, our very streets were filled with people praying.

Our country today...can not forget the horror of that morning...nor the precious lives of thousands that were taken. Our country will never forget the courage and sacrifice of those who placed their own lives in danger to protect their fellow citizen.

On this day in 2001... Our country discovered something else even more precious than all of this. We discovered our greatest strength and the courage to stand against such evil was to be found with all of us as a nation on her knees...crying out to God...the only One who can save us.

As you give remembrances of this day...I pray you will recall not only where you were and what you were doing...and how you felt...but recall your desperate need for God that day...recall your prayers...or at least recall your need for God’s help...and give thanks to the only God who saves...

Our need as a nation for God is no less today. Amazingly...Astonishingly... God has remained faithful to us...even when we have been faithless to Him.

May God Bless America...always.

Kathy

2 Corinthians 4:16
The Message (MSG)
So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.

About Me

My photo
My life in Christ came a bit late in life.I grew up in a Christian home and was baptized at age 9. I enjoyed a long career as a flight attendant (1973-2005). I met my husband Brad, in 1984 while living in Tampa Florida. At the time, we both were living a lifestyle that was not pleasing to the Lord. We married in 1986, but it wasn't until early 1992 that I knew the Lord was calling me to Him. God placed this same desire in my husband's heart. As Brad and I grew in faith, so did our desire to serve God in ministry. In late 2002 we moved to Virginia Beach where the Lord called Brad to serve as a Worship minister. In 6 short months, Brad was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I found my greatest moments of weakness came when I placed my thoughts on all the things that could go wrong and allowed fear to take hold. We were given 5 more years to share together. God is faithful and to His glory I serve Him through writing devotionals and inspirational article for this blog as well as a published writer with the writing team of A Widow's Might ministry. Our Devotional Books are titled: "For The Love of Her Life". I am also an Inspirational Speaker.
